Founded in 1997, Comfone is a result of a joint merger formed between Swisscom and Vodafone. Today Comfone is a leader in first class roaming services, including Data and Financial Clearing, and much more.

THe Brief

The brief was to redesign the Comfone website with the goal of making the content more accessible for users.

The Challenge & Process
Telecom companies are often a jungle of multi-layered products, complicated terms and conditions, features, and non-transparency. The challenge for the new website was to capture, break down and simplify this complexity without omitting or undermining details. Those users who want to dive deeper into a product or specification must be allowed to do so.
Understand the business
Companies tend to forget that an outsider isn't familiar with complicated terms and conditions of the business. My approach was to thoroughly comprehend the services and terms described on the website so that I could communicate them to the end-user and my team in a more effective manner.
Define users
Comfone is a giant in the sector, yet the website's target audience have never been specified. We identified the various users, their journeys, and combined that knowledge into personas as a team.
Design Solutions
At this stage I came up with lots of ideas for designs that can address the user problems I’ve identified. After that, I began to design those concepts.
Evaluate Solution
The final step was to ask myself, “Does the design I created solve the user’s problem?” To answer this question, I had to test the design with real people and collect feedback.

I built a new information architecture and navigation patterns to create a consistent and simplified operation. The new concept is based on three main action areas and allows users to easily tackle and complete their tasks.
